Learning to Play
In the first day of May in the year 2010, I bought my very first Student Violin from a store, I bought it with my winnings from a drawing competition. Right after I started to study playing it by myself for at that time I am looking for someone to teach me, A violin teacher or also a student that can teach, that's when I remembered the brother of my high school classmate. He actually asked me first, he started the conversation by asking " is the violin in your picture yours?, did you play it?" and I quickly answered " Yes, It is mine and I started studying on how to play it a few days ago", and he offered, " Why don't I teach you?, I still study but I can teach"; I replied again " Right now I can't afford to pay for the lessons, but I think I can save up for it".
On October, I cannot remember what day but the same year, I started my lessons under his teachings. He is a very good teacher, I learn fast and by that time I learned different pieces that are for beginners. but, there is only a little thing that is a problem, there are days that he's not teaching me; Although I can understand because he is still a student like me and have other obligations, If he's not teaching me, he will just extend the lesson on the days that he teach. There came up the a Month or two that I don't have lessons because of his obligations like school activities, school orchestra rehearsals and performances, out of town trips, by that time it's December to January a festival of music, It's an annual habit for the culture arts and music performances including Orchestras whether a school orchestra or a professional orchestra, I clearly remember that I learn/can play the Minuet 1 from Book 1 of Suzuki for violin during those times, and the progress of learning is slowing down. by May of the following year, I have entered a School Summer music Camp conducted in a Catholic School sponsored by a friend of mine, I am really grateful to her, from there she offered me to replace her from her violin studies at the same school in the reason that she cannot manage her time due to work. Up until last May I continued my lesson, the progress is not noticeable by me, but I have wondered that is my progress too fast? did I hurry myself or is it still slow in accordance to not absorbing some of the lessons thought? but still I am happy that I reached a certain level that I have not noticed.
I am still planning on to continue my lessons, but I have to save up more by doing work. I think it still can wait but I have to retain practicing so the skills will not fade..

A Musician's Dream
In this video: Everly
music from: Howl's Moving Castle
title: Merry-go-Round of life by: Joe Hisaishi
Since the day that I have joined a group composed of all music enthusiast, specially it was made for the ones that loves to play the violin. It opens a new chapter in my life, seeing and experiencing new things, capture every image and of course knowing new friends that you can tag along through the journey that an individual like me is walking on.music from: Howl's Moving Castle
title: Merry-go-Round of life by: Joe Hisaishi
At first I was an ordinary art and animation student from a state university, then, there came an opportunity that I once longed for and almost forgotten and suddenly I realized that I have to grab that thing, that I see as a new light. as a child I wanted to play this instrument, back then as I can remember, I asked my Mother if I can study to play an instrument like the violin but, I was replied by a No, we cannot afford that kind thing besides we are not that rich. That really made me sad because at that time my family had so much expenses that made my father go abroad to work and my sister take part time jobs while in college, until I forgotten that dream.
So many years has gone by and one event that made me remember as if I had an amnesia due to an un-expected encounter with a fellow that I not realize will be my friend and teacher. I saw his violin in my high school teacher's class room and office. I approached it and wanted to touch the instrument, but of course I didn't because I thought that I might break it if something happen and I saw that person, the one that owns the violin. I realized he was my class mate's older brother.
(let's just skip another chapter :p)
again years has gone by and I went to college, and there is this I called opportunity, I won in a drawing contest in my school (and yes I am the first placer) my drawing for a mascot is chosen. I received the price money. Thinking what to do to it, should I keep it? should I spend it for my materials for school? or should I share it.
but, something just kicked in. I went to a store and bought the violin. after that at home, I searched the internet to learn how to play it, I started to learn it by myself. there are so many things to learn like, how it was made, what materials is it made from, history, music theories and so forth.
In the group that I joined while I was in self studying stage, they helped me a lot. they gave me and the other members some helpful advises and tips. In that new chapter that was naturally written in my book of journey, I had so many encounters, so many mistakes and so many places that went through, One experience is that, whenever we play in parks public places even though we are not asking for donations, the guards always sends us away and telling us that we cannot make any noise or perform without permission from the park's offices.
so I wanted to share this video above:
I saw some pictures and videos of musician Playing classical instrument all over the world in parks on street and other public places so, why cant we? aside from this, there is also an event in my life that I won't forget, in a beautiful park a guard tells us that we cannot play our instruments and there was an observer that helped us these are couples and they are very happy that they saw a bunch of children practicing a piece. We are very thankful that they lend us their studio for a while just to practice.
This is a new dream that I wanted to fulfill to publicly permit musicians to play their preferred instrument, depending on one's purpose.

International Jazz Fest 2011
International Jazz fest 2011 was held in Greenbelt Ayala,
me and my organization Friends (Pinoy Violinist Organization) attended the Israeli Jazzfest Concert
by Invitation of the Israeli Embassy, Aya Korem and Adam Ben Amitai
are the artist Invited to Perform.
Aya Korem, And Ben Amitai sang both in English and Hebrew songs in their original composition and
other artist songs that are translated in Hebrew.
After Their Perfomance.. their much anticipated encore song is performed. We had no idea that
they planned to sing a tagalog love song for their encore, so we are like "Oh My God!" reaction
when they sang "Kung Tayo'y Matanda Na".
they sang it beautifully, and at that time we are like highschool boys and girls that have crushes!,
Thanks to Mr. Yaniv Revach and for Mr. Adrian Lontoc for Inviting Us!
I just borrowed these pictures from Vanessa, Thanks! Vanessa for the pictures!
